 The mid-Winter sun struggles to burn off the early mist, which veils the woodland. Three Black Labs, unleashed by their master, rampage joyfully through its shouded trees. Wood Pigeons, which have roosted over-night amongst the sheltering boughs, are startled into flight by this sudden intrusion. The happy trio pause briefly by a fallen tree, their attention drawn by the anxious wing-claps of the fleeing birds, which echo like pistol shots through the still morning air.
