Having been left behind by his master and two companions, the old boy, now too stiff to walk far, looks up expectantly - tail wagging - as he spies the returning party.
It's seventeen years since the publication of 'In Retirement' and thirteen since the release of its follow-up 'As Time Goes By'. During that time, I have thought many times of painting a final piece to 'close the circle' so to speak. 'Friends Reunited' is the happy ending I had always hoped for.
