Text Box: Stained Class Cats Release date: February 2001 IMAGE SOLD OUT Image size: 500mm x 525mm Having completed a series of "Artist's Cats" paintings, Sue wanted to paint a cubist's cat. Her original intention was to paint Picasso's cat. However, in her search for the right image, she came across a painting by Franz Marcs entitled Deer in a Forest. Sue decided that she wanted to adapt this work and replace the deer with cats. The end result, that you see opposite, was virtually a new image - not Franz Marcs cats but, as she decided to call it, Stained Class Cats. It was from this piece that Sue's exciting new style developed.
