For those of you who remember when Mars Bars were sold under the slogan - "A Mars a day help you work, rest and play". It will come as no great surprise that this was the inspiration for the set of three images above. I have always tried, wherever possible, to create narrative in my paintings, what's more, I believe in showing all aspects of what sharing your life with dogs is about. Working dogs are what drive me professionally, dogs that still do what they were originally bred to do. Owning a dog is about having a relationship and I find a working relationship the ultimate inspiration for my work. Black Labradors are the single most popular breed of dog in the world, perhaps as much for the fact that they make great family pets, as being superb gun dogs. With these pictures, I have attempted to show three aspects of this wonderful breed.
